Iyo Meito, originally known as Yoshu Iyoto, is a natural whetstone with a history of 1,300 years. At the time, white whetstone was considered the highest quality Iyo whetstone. Princess Miotsukushi called the white whetstones "White whetstone," "Koume," "Shiraume," and "Musagumo" based on their appearance.

As its name suggests, white whetstones are pure white. They are used as pottery stones and are the raw material for not only Tobe ware but also ceramics from various other regions, but they have also been considered luxury whetstones in the past.

This white whetstone is moderately hard, and we recommend using it with Kyonagura, but if you remove the mud from it using an atomizer or something similar, it will have a very smooth sharpening feel and will work as a medium whetstone to medium finishing.
