Iyomeito is a whetstone with Iyome wood grain, which, as its name suggests, looks as if it was carved out of the trunk of a large tree. It was once called "Tiger" and treated as a third-class product, but since the mountain it is mined from changed, it has become a very popular whetstone, not only for its appearance but also for its high quality. It is of medium hardness compared to Iyomeito, so if you are looking for a medium whetstone, this one will be enough. It is very hard compared to artificial whetstones, so it is best to use a Kyonagura or diamond whetstone to remove the mud before using it.
